Bahrain's Leading Marine Transportation Company
Masar Group, originally founded as Southern Tourism Company in 2000, has played a pivotal role in advancing Bahrain’s tourism and maritime sectors. Since 2013, it has operated under the ownership of Mumtalakat, Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund, further strengthening its foundation for growth and innovation.
In 2014, Masar embarked on a bold transformation under the leadership of a new board of directors. With innovation and excellence at its core, the company has grown into a leader in maritime and logistics solutions in Bahrain. From offering premium sea tourism experiences to managing cargo transportation and vessel maintenance, Masar continues to redefine the industry with its comprehensive approach.
Then, in 2015, Masar set sail on an important chapter, becoming the premier maritime link between Bahrain and the Hawar Islands. By serving the government and several private sectors, we carved a niche in maritime transport, shaping the growth of Bahrain’s tourism industry. - Husain AlQaseer brings 15 years of global investment expertise to Masar, guiding the company’s role as a leader in maritime trade and tourism. At Mumtalakat, Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund, he oversaw strategic assets as Senior Director – Local Impact Investments. Previously, he held senior roles at Al Salam Bank Bahrain and Al Rajhi Holdings, and he began his career at Ernst & Young as a transaction advisor.
Husain has managed deals across North America, Europe, MENA, and Southeast Asia, driving success in industries such as financial services, real estate, healthcare, and energy. A Fulbright Scholar, he holds a master’s in finance, an MBA in Non-Profit Management, and a dual bachelor’s in finance and Statistics from the University of Denver. His leadership combines vision, expertise, and a deep commitment to driving Masar’s growth.

- Yousif Khalifa Al Manea, an Industrial Engineer and a graduate of King Abdulaziz University brings nearly 20 years of experience in logistics, shipping, and maritime operations. Starting his career at Bapco, he quickly advanced to Shipping Manager at ASRY within a year.
In 2022, he became CEO of Masar Group, overseeing its repositioning as a regional service provider and expanding its reach under Mumtalakat. Before this, he served as CEO of Kanoo Logistics, where he restructured operations, secured $100 million in contracts, and led the company through COVID-19 with innovative strategies. Over the last 14 years, Yousif has played a key role in milestones aligned with Bahrain’s Vision 2030, advancing localization, regional expansion, and industry growth.
